Data Centre

The data centre is designed around hot and cold aisle technology. The cold air is forced at high pressure through ducting under the raised floor and is fed up through angled vents at the front of each cabinet. This cold air is then sucked though the cabinet and your server to ensure optimal operating temperatures of 22°C +/- 2°C at all times. As the hot air exits your server and the cabinet, it’s directed away from the cold airflow to ensure that the cold air is never ‘contaminated’ with hot air.

The Fire suppression system ensures that should any fire, flame or smoke be detected, the pure Halon Gas system quickly stops any risk of fire without damaging any servers or networking equipment.

We have a 2 Megawatt onsite substation, with dual AKSA 1.6 megawatt generators connected via C&N ATS systems. There is also a N+1 PowerWave UPS system to ensure that power is not only constant in supply while the generator is prime in the event of a mains power cut, but also that ‘clean’ power is delivered to the data centre.

Data centre security is also one of our highest priorities. We have security guards constantly monitoring the CCTV monitors, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. We use the latest proximity sensing technology so as soon as anything passes in front of a camera that object is tracked, zoomed in on automatically and the image feed is displayed on a dedicated ‘big screen’ in the security command room. Each area is accessible only via swipe cards, and again each entrance is protected via security cameras.

Physical access to the site is only possible once you have completed rigorous security checks via an intercom to security. A complex barrier system ensures that no vehicles can enter the complex without approval from security, and if that’s not enough, a 3 meter high, anti climb fencing surrounds the entire complex.
